I always knew I wanted to help people and decided to pursue a career in psychology and mental health. I have always been naturally empathetic toward others and that understanding allows me to help clients achieve the best results in treatment. I believe life transitions can be opportunities to grow and develop a greater understanding of yourself. I have vast experience working with all ages and I love being a therapist and helping others.
I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to make positive changes in their lives, but I also understand change is very challenging! I love to collaborate with clients to help them make the changes they want while practicing empathy and understanding the difficulty that is associated with this. The intake process will consist of obtaining information about the client’s reason for seeking counseling, their mental health-related issues, and their family history. Sessions are collaborative and I am a big believer in meeting clients where they are. My counseling style is client-centered and tailored to the client’s individual needs based on their personal experiences and present-day goals. I do believe that clients can be further helped and supported by taking what they learn in session and applying it back to their lives. Typically, sessions involve some combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and interpersonal therapy.
I participate in several continuing education courses throughout the year and love learning new things that can help me better treat my clients. Creating that comfortable therapeutic alliance is key to our healthy and effective relationship and your personal growth. It’s also important to know that you are not being judged. My goal is to help my clients navigate through their everyday stressors and anxiety and gain the tools to deal with their feelings by exploring themselves in therapy.Specialties
